Spring has Sprung in the Snowies

Its been a while since I've posted a blog and seeing that Summer is in full swing and we don't have the madness of Winter check arrivals I can start to update more often on what's happening in the Snowies...

October was as usual a quiet month for many business owners with a chance to unwind and re-coup from winter 2011. September had some good snowfalls right through to the closing weekend offering blue bird powder days for the die hard snow fans.

November
Just as we thought things would be slowing down we are reminded of the craziness with a massive weekend of activities and events during the first weekend of the month with the annual Snowy Ride, Snowy River Festival and the Gaden Trout Hatchery open weekend.

Thousands of bikers turned out for a great weekend and it didn't even rain (for once), The Snowy Ride raises money for the Steven Walter Foundation who donate to Cancer research. This event has grown in size to become an event that rivals the Thredbo village capacity in winter times.

Not so far away the horse power was being challenged in another kind at the Snowy River Festival. This year it was held at the Station Resort just off the Barry Way (towards Dalgety) and the event went of with the whip cracking, stunt riding and animal wrangling just to name a few.

So its been a busy start to the summer and we have plenty more events coming up! Christmas is just around the corner and the town is very excited to be using the new amphitheatre which is having the final touches applied before Christmas carols in the park.
